Kylie McKinney

Kylie McKinney was born and raised in a small town in Spartanburg County, where she continues to live today. As a certified Special Education teacher, Kylie taught in the classroom for four years before moving into her current position as an Autism Specialist for Spartanburg County schools. This is her second year in this position and she absolutely loves it. She says the best part about her job is that she gets to work with incredible kiddos of all ages (3-21) and with their teachers, parents, and advocacy teams to help them learn how to maximize their education and potential. She’s always loved working with people with special needs and this love was only intensified by working at Camp Spearhead, a camp for people with special needs in Greenville County. She worked there for six summers and continues to work with the Weekend Program in the off seasons. Aside from educating, working for Spearhead, and working to earn her Master’s degree, she absolutely adores traveling the world, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends! Kylie is excited for this new opportunity to learn and advocate alongside of the Down Syndrome Family Alliance!
