We are so honored to be chosen as the organization for whom Macie Southern, a student at Brashier Middle College Charter High School, would like to sponsor a Spring Dance. She is organizing this dance as her Senior project. Here is a little bit about why she has chosen the DSFA:
"I chose this event as my senior project for many reasons. I have always had a passion for children with differing needs. In fact, I am going to attend Clemson University in the fall to pursue a career in Pediatric Occupational Therapy. I was born with a life-threatening heart condition that required 3 open heart surgeries. I continue to deal with this condition, but I am stable and am able to live everyday to the fullest. When I was younger, I became one of the State Ambassadors for the SC Chapter of the Make A Wish Foundation. My countless years of work with them created a special place in my heart for children with all needs. After a close family friend was blessed with a sweet daughter with Down Syndrome my junior year, I fell in love with her and knew I wanted my senior project to help the DSFA in some way. I am so beyond excited to have this opportunity."
This event will include a fun photo booth, DJ. A light dinner will be served. Attendees may dress however they would like - dressy or casual - as this dance is for them!
