Meet the Board

The DSFA Greenville holds annual elections for officers and board members.  Your current officers and board members meet at least once per month to discuss and plan upcoming events, services, and current news concerning people with Down Syndrome.

President:  Angie Mosely

Angie is a graduate of Clemson University and, prior to having children, spent 8 years working as a Corporate Trainer for Bank of America.  Married to Paul in 1995, she is now the mother of three children (Ryan, Garrett, and Brooke) and is the owner / Director of the National League of Junior Cotillions (East Greenville Chapter).  In her spare time, she enjoys decorating her home and spending time with close friends.

 


 

Vice President: Nea Zambrano

Nea and her husband Omar are the parents of Vickie, Tori, and Joe.  As the owner of a local gift shop, Nea spends a good deal of her time dealing with weddings and invitations.  Nea and her family attend St. George Greek Orthodox Church and, with three children, their family is always on the go!

Renee is a graduate of Charleston Southern University.  Married to Michael in 2002, Renee welcomed her first child, Nicholas Abraham, in 2004, and a second child, Bethany Joy, in 2006. Renee is employed full time as a Data Support Secretary, but also enjoys working part time as a labor assistant, CPR instructor, entrepreneur of her own Arbonne and Reliv businesses, and co-owner of the family’s painting and pressure cleaning business.  In her “spare” time, she enjoys scrapbooking, fixing up her home, serving other families touched by Downs syndrome, and serving the Lord alongside her family.

Bill has been married to his wife Angie since 1965.  Together, they have three adult children:  Greg (Chattanooga, TN), Christine (Anderson, SC), and Karin (Greer, SC).  They also are proud grandparents to six grandchildren, including their grandson Ryan who was born with Down Syndrome.  Bill is an Electrical Engineer and is retired from GE and Rockwell Automation.  He is a member of Devenger Road Presbyterian Church where he is finishing his second term as Deacon Chairman, serves as Financial Secretary and sings in the choir.  Hobbies are golf, photography, gardening, spoiling those six grandchildren, driving and delivering for Meals on Wheels, and generally serving the Lord.

Rod and his wife, Darcy, are parents to Macy.  Macy was born in August, 2001 with Down Syndrome.  They were made aware of the diagnosis prior to birth and struggled with the uncertain future in store for their family.  Since Macy's birth, Macy has been a light in their world, and continues to grow, learn, and enjoy life.  Rod has a Masters Degree in Education and Darcy has a Masters Degree in Counseling.  Both Rod and Darcy work for the School District of Greenville County.

Dava is married to her high school sweetheart, Donnie.  Together they have three children: Brock, Bryn & Brooks David. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, Dava was an Executive Secretary to the CFO of Delta Woodside Industries for 8 years.  She also holds a real estate license.  “Having a child with special needs is not what most would expect," says Dava.  As a family, their goal has always been to share Bryn, and their experiences with her, with friends, family, and anyone else who might benefit. Dava is committed to finding ways of highlighting the importance of advocacy, keeping perspective and seeing the possibilities in all children.

Chuck and Janice first became involved with Down Syndrome in April of 1987 when their daughter, Mary Alice was born.  Their journey of learning the ins and outs of DS, from infancy to adulthood, and the identification of resources through multiple relocations has been enlightening and challenging.  Chuck has degrees in Chemistry, Biology, and a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Barbara grew up in Indiana, but graduated from Bob Jones University.  She taught and coached in Alabama, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, and here in South Carolina.  Barbara is the mother of two girls and is married to her husband Greg.  She is currently serving as the director of the Meyer Center and is the current President of the  Upstate Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is also active in her church and enjoys community service, outdoor and sports activities, and playing the piano.

 

 

Board Member:  Mindy Ramsey

Mindy  Ramsey is the mother  of 12 year old Sid.  She and her husband Shaun have 3 wonderful children who keep them very busy.  Sid enjoys horseback riding at Eden Farms where he rides his favorite horse, Hannah. Mindy is a Family Partner with Family Connection of SC  where meets meets new families whose child had received a diagnosis of Down Syndrome and helps get them connected to other families and other services that will be of help to them.  Shaun and Mindy are involved with their church where Shaun is a part time pastor and youth leader,  and Mindy is involved  with the children’s ministries. Their son also plays with the orchestra at Eastside High school and attend the Fine Arts Center,  and they volunteer with both of those groups.   With their daughter at Wofford  ,  they are now Terrier fans, too!
